ORC Spring 2021 :: Week 6

It’s week 6! I am so glad that you are here. We are fixing our concrete porch by tiling over it. Click here for Week 1 for the backstory and the design plan.

Wow only 2 more weeks left after this! It’s been a lot of fun and inspiring to watch the other participants with their rooms.

We are done laying tile!!! Agh so happy. I do hope this project inspires you to start something you haven’t done before. I hope you know; you can do it! Even working full time… it may just take 5 weeks LOL

Next for the tile is to clean up and then grout. We bought premixed grout, because we will have to do this in small segments like the tile (after work and on weekends). They say that if you use the powder and get the mixture slightly different each time, it may be different shades of the dark grey. This was a more expensive route, but I believe the best option for our situation! We’ve used the powder kind in our old kitchen and it was very easy! But we also knocked that out in a couple days

This past week my chairs for the fire pit came in. I picked out all weather, black rockers. I hope it looks as natural as the Adirondack chairs but I know they will be more comfortable! Since they are all weather, I won’t have to stain them or treat them.

The string lights also came in! The are different than any other I’ve seen on the market. Here’s a sneak peek. I will tell all about them in the finale! AND there will be a giveaway for them 💙

Here are some inspo pictures for string lights that I’ve saved for this project.

I cannot decide on rugs for out here and time is running out. Did you like the last weeks options I found? The jute style ones give that natural organic look.
