Creating Our Cozy is a mission to me. Having a warm, loving, cozy environment is the goal. I can tell this will be a major trend for the upcoming year, which makes me incredibly happy!
So how do you start to incorporate the warm, organic, cozy vibes? It is easier than you might think.
Here are four ways to make it happen.
Start with layers. A textured throw on the end of a bed or couch welcomes you to have a seat and snuggle up. FUR, KNIT. If you do not want them laying out, you can grab a basket and “toss” the blankets into it. Extra points if they are spilling out.
Add detail to your walls. This includes millwork, wallpaper, moody paint choices. Wallpaper is easier than ever nowadays, with the removable option. I change my mind so often that this is a lifesaver. Try out that moody paint color, you can always paint over it. Try out that printed wallpaper, you can always remove it! This year I want to try all three of these options.
Throw in wooden elements. Picture frames, a coffee table, a console table. All of these options create that “outside is now inside, organic vibe”. You can even have wooden beams or paneling in the ceiling.
Painted Trim/Doors. This look can instantly transform a space. Take a look at this remodel I designed in 2020. The black trimwork adds depth and interest to the space.

We painted the trim and doors in our home Pashmina by Benjamin Moore. This gives contrast and warmth to each room of our home.
Lamps. Instant warmth and cozy vibes! As a kid and at the in laws, we always sit with the lamps on no overhead lights. Here, I do not have a table with a lamp on it near the living room at all! I need to change this stat!
